1280 x 1024 is too easy for the HD 5850 on a strong Core i7 platform.

That set up is fully capable of much higher resolution.
And your 900W power supply has plenty of power to spare even with a dual HD 5850 set up. Also consider retail motherboards from Asus, Gigabyte etc. Intel motherboards are less exciting because you could hardly tweak them for best performance in gaming.
