How To Set Up A Ceiling Fan Pretty Much All By Yourself

Do you own a living room that could utilize a ceiling fan to cool it down? Its certainly not difficult to install a ceiling fan yourself if you are preparing to replace a light fixture. Because a ceiling fan requires the same electrical wiring as your light fixture, the only important thing that needs to be done is to replace the workbox that can handle the weight of the ceiling fan. It would be very hazardous if you do not exchange your current workbox to something that can take on the extra weight of the ceiling fan. Before you carry out anything, read the guidelines for your fan very carefully and make sure that you have the needed tools.

If you intend to have the fan over a cathedral ceiling, you must acquire an extension so the fan wont be so high up. Now that you are all set for the exact installation, ensure that the breaker is switched off, so no power is delivering to the light you are swapping. Eliminate the light fixture, and decide if the workbox that is already there can cope with the added weight. Normally they aren't created for a ceiling fan, so you will have to add additional support. Including support to the workbox is not that hard if you have access to the light fixture from the attic.

To add new support, you only need to nail a 2x4 involving the ceiling rafters so that it touches the top of the workbox. Once the 2x4 is well anchored, attach the workbox to the 2x4. If you accomplish it properly, the fan should be effectively supported by the 2x4. If you do not have access to the attic, you will definately have to deploy metal cross bracing through the hole in your ceiling. When you have put together the fan properly, you are now in a position to hang your fan. The hard part is keeping the fan, while joining the wiring. Depending on the fan, many come with a hanging frame, and others contain a bracket with a J hook that lets you dangle the motor housing. Many fans have a chain to master the speed of the fan and the wall switch turns the product on or off. If you also put in a light kit with the fan, each can be operated by a wall switch or chain.

Following, just stick to the wiring directions, usually as easy as connecting the two black wires, both white wires, and also the two ground wires. Once you have completed putting together the fan and cabling, the last step is to attach the fan blades. Is dependent. I've had this happen for various reasons.

Might be common fan hardware failure. I presently possess a strange fan that shuts off when it's startup up then returns on when Home windows pops up. Area of the automatic speed inside it I suppose.

Asus has some fan controlling qualities within the bios but sometimes induce to much erratic behavior. The rate could be detected and controlled in the fan plug.

Lastly I've had it happen after i was building my first AMD Athlon system. I did not know of the auxillary 4 pin plug in the energy supply towards the board. The fan will come on for any second,insufficient energy then turn off.
