UPS question...?
I'm looking to protect the supply to a couple of PCs, a KVM switch, a 192 flat panel monitor, an Edimax 8 way gigabit switch and my Netgear DG 834G firewall router.
I'm thinking about a couple of Liebert 450VA models from Scan http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=44508
I'm guessing that they will be up to the job - unless anyone can suggest otherwise...
I would be pleased to have confirmation that they are silent (no fans, no buzzing) except when alarmed... anyone used these?

you must be like me,one of the few guys whos actually heard of a u.p.s power unit
when i mention this to many people they look at me daft and think im talking about a parcel delivery service
the model in question is fine and is plenty good enough for what you need it for
also take a look at the 700Va - Liebert - Powersure Personal XT UPS,this is worth the bit extra and the piece of mind
they are near silent,nothings completely silent ,my one just sits under the p.c desk and touch wood its only saved me once,this model gives you 20 minutes of battery back up (depending on the actual load), so this gives you ample time to save any data and back up your work
and with the freak weather we are experiencing lately theres never been a better time than to invest in one of these units
