Less than being aware of what overclocking is?
I've published several questions in the last couple of days about assembling my first computer so when reading through reviews and the like lots of people refered to overclocking, I'm presuming it's accelerating the pc in somw way because it was always then 3.5GHz or something like that similar but the facts, how's it done and do you know the long-term effects? Could it be something I ought to do after i put my computer together?

I would not make an effort to overclock your computer ...You can finish up baking the processor ..I do not realise why many people get it done , for only a sake of the couple of GHz....
Overclocking : PC companies exercise the typical speed for his or her processors that will run without baking the processor , for instance they already know their processor will run at 3.5ghz however the processors can run at 3.7ghz however they encounter problems because of getting too hot therefore the PC makers make sure they are run at 3.5ghz..However , many people would like them to operate in the greater speed , so that they overclock them but it may cause getting too hot ..Many people combat this getting too hot problem by investing in a much better air conditioning
