Spring Cleaning
Mar 21, 2007So I made some resolutions a few months ago, and so far I’ve been pretty good about keeping them. I have indeed gotten comfortable with all the new sexy things in Rails 1.2, and as a result it’s caused me to revisit much of my existing code and clean it up.
So what’s coming in the next month or so?
Simplist Two Point Oh
A new version of the CMS that runs this site is coming. Rebuilt using Rails 1.2 conventions the code is much cleaner and the overall app is smaller.
The more I explore the wide world of the content management system the more I’m convinced that there needs to be more simple, focused applications and less monolithic ones that try to do everything under the sun.
A Redesign
Along with rethinking my design of a CMS I’ve also begun to rethink the design of this site. Look for another shift towards more simplicity and a focus on making content easy to find and consume.
Branching Out
With the warmer weather comes my desire to get out from behind the monitor and back outdoors. Look for some new projects that aren’t strictly code based and will focus more on producing content for the web.
