New built computer wont boot.?
I Just built a new computer and here are the specs.
WD Caviar 500GB Serial ATA HD 7200/16MB/SATA-3G
Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66Ghz 6MB 1333FSB CPU
ASUS P5Q Intel P45 Socket 775 Motherboard
XFX GeForce 9800 GT 512MB PCIe w/Dual Link DVI
Kingston HyperX 4096MB PC8500 DDR2 1066MHz (2x2048
Samsung 22X DVDRW SATA OEM
Thermaltake Purepower 500w ATX Power Supply.
Now the issue is I have plugged everything in properly but when I try to boot the computer it tries to start but fails. Like, the fans rev up and the front LED lights up but then the fan stop revving and LED light turns off but then a second later it restarts this process. Sometimes the light stays up for 3 secs sometimes less. I get no screen. Its just constantly restarting. I'm wondering if the power supply is defective or maybe there is just something I'm horrible missing.
a friend of mine actually had this problem, its your power supply, its not providing enough power to run everything, its restarting because its hitting its top peak power of 500w's but it keeps trying to boot. with that computer specs i would recommend you get at least a 650w PSU.
